+q Mode Annoyance

comparing to ur description how try to become owner of the channel and with this +q flag. good idea would be to register the channel ......

also /mode #chan nick +q won't work for the user, u need to use umode, means services needs to be running and u need to be able to use /os umode nickname flag.

you don't need to use services to change your own umodes, only other people really. I use it all the time to remove my own ircop to test stuff "/mode nick -o"

so if you have the proper oper flags (discussed above) you can just go "/mode yournick +q"
