You mean that you can still download Auspice?

I think there's even an old beta of Unreal IRCd still hanging around at SF...

Why on earth anyone would use Auspice is beyond me...
We used Auspice for around 2 years... they crashed every second week (at best) and we only had around 5 regular users.
Then we switched services... havent looked back since.
why not

Just download the source for Anope at
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfile ... p_id=94081, then download and install Cygwin at
http://www.cygwin.com (setting up Cygwin can take some time because it's a lot like downloading/installing a UNIX distro). Then startup Cygwin Bash, cd to Anope, configure, make, make install, run!
http://www.wircds.net has a download for Anope that's already compiled like that, but with an earlier version of Cygwin than what's available. Anope works fine when I deleted cygwin1.dll from the Anope directory and copied the one in the Cygwin folder to \Windows\System32.
Unfortunately, the one I downloaded is an earlier version.
anope

Sounds like you don't know much about Cygwin.
You download the setup.exe file, and then you choose which components to download and install. On my system, downloading the basic installation, GCC and GNU make was enough for me to compile and run IRC Services.
If you have the time, patience and connectivity, you can download the whole bloody lot.

If you have a cable connection, you can also download the whole bloody lot.

Or at least the binaries. I didn't feel like dl-ing the source, but that doesn't mean I couldn't.
