I was wondering if it's possible to make everyone that connects to the ircd use a default host? I know some other ircds do without mods, even this one in case someone does /oper, but not sure about regular users. I'm refering to something like This.Is.A.Test.Net would be the default host of everyone that connects to the ircd.
Would that be possible?

Also, I know for auto-op in a channel would need services provided by Anope, but is it possible to make auto-op on a channel without Anope?

We don't have that, and it seems like a horrible feature to me.. great for bans!

Another alternative is a bot (eg: eggdrop, emech, ..).
Btw, anope isn't the only services, there's also 'ircservices' and a few others (that said, I personally like anope most ;p).
Anyway, services are a great enhancement (some might even say 'requirement') for a good network, so perhaps you should reconsider having it :p.
