Config Allright ircd runs but cant connect.

Hi all,
Well this is my problem,
I have set up ircd on my shell account and everything seems to be fine
when I run ./unreal start there is no errors but I canot connect to my ircd server in mirc.. is there something I may of missed that would stop me from accessing it?

Did you set up your firewall and router correctly?

bit off topic but hello scribbs! ltns! You still learning to configure your unreal? lol mines all done and running - compiled, on a shell and complete with services. now its a case of ironing out the fine tunes

it is possible you are running a firewall like Dukat said. could also be that your listen blocks are not correct.. If you used a wild card for the ip, i would suggest setting one then trying to connect with the set IP.

Found the problem port 6667 was blocked,
im on a new shell and everything is working correctly now.

Mr_S where'd ya go lol, your never on msn anymore
anyway I decided not to worry about chat site just wanted a little ircd server for friends ect.. to chat on, were also gonna have an ocx ready in the next few weeks.

i dont use MSN at all scribbs, to many annoying people!
Where did you get your ocx from ? i bet that cost too! ActiveX chat?

Na look on eXtreme Computing forums, and look for PhatOCX someone else is making it but they said I can use it once there finished, but still not to sure about it as only IE I realy wanted something that would work in all browsers.
