Another river under the bridge, time to post nonsensically..

With my landmark 600th or so post, I would like to say a few things, greet a few people, make a few comments and in general; make my token presence felt more than ever.

I have been using Unreal now since around the time of 3.1.6-noon (?) etc al, and it has been refreshing to see the growth and development of something that would core here and there, to something that really only cores when I do something stupid in a module (null pointers are such fun.)

I remember the good old days, when TechAdmins were still not quite a thing of the past, before Spamfilter, before shun, back when I barely knew what NICK blarp would do. As I look back, it is good to see the growth, change and development in myself, the community and in the software that links us together.

Syzop, codemastr, congradulations on creating an IRCd that we can use, that gives us what we want, and for listening to us with patience (except when we whine).

May IRC and IRCd continue to evolve and grow with us as I look forward to my 1200th post here.

Bye.

Go w00t!

Suprisingly, I also remember the ancient 3.1s, techadmin, that wierd config setup, etc. Sure has changed now that you draw my attention to it.

I second it.

Yeah, they were fun times. Back before I had any clue as to how IRC worked... I still have a few logs, too... :?

I started way back, got drawn into IRC chat on a server called chatspace.

It's 4 years later, i'm now running said server on unreal.. Started when the version was 3.1.12

Sounds like I'm a relative newcomer then. Only got involved with IRCd's just before RC1 was released.

Wow! Old Logs!

My oldest logs go back *maybe* a year. But then I format my comp often enough, and dont bother to save logs usually.

Just a year?

I think my oldest log is from June 2002 :P

EDIT: That is the oldest log of anything I have.

I remember the good old days on EF-net and using Phoenix on top of good old ircII unix shell client when splits were a plenty and nick collisions were an art form :) DAL-net was unheard of, Undernet was in its infancy and the WWW was just an idea.

BUT glad we have stuff like Unreal and Anope to make life easier these days.

I wonder what IRC will be like in another 10 years?
