Connecting mIRC as a Service

Hi all,

Is it possible to let a mIRC connect as service so
i can config it myself ?
Hope its possible cause i want a whole other system then it is now.

Possible, yes, kinda. You would nee to write a script to interface useingn the ircd linking protocols, OR create a client server with a uline.

Well mIRC supports sockets so its totally possible, there are servial examples out there of ircd/services in mirc

Now..the next question...is it smart? is it smart to run mirc as a network service? My opinion...NO!

I'd rather not go into the religious wars.

If people can write services in python, surely they can do the same in mircscript :).

is this "runnung mirc as service" ment to be mirc as the daemon to provice nickserv/chanserv-functions, or is it ment to be "service" in the windows-slang, as a "way" a process is running?

To me, that means chanserv, nickserv, etc.

I had already pointed out that religious wars were unconstructive, I guess it didn't quite happen. Plus, that was a rather redundant post. Topic locked before things get more o/t.
