My question is simple : is it a good idea to run UnrealIRC as root ?
I'm sure the answer is no, for security reasons, but I still have a doubt... please answer me !

No, it's not a good idea.
You shouldn't run anything as root (if possible).

Thanks for your answer ! It confirms what I believe : only system processes may run as root... I really don't know why I was having a doubt about the UnrealIRC's case
