It works better if you ask specific questions, rather than just generic questions. Remember 99% of us here run IRC networks or are involved in them, so at least for me, I already have my plate full. But if you ask something specific I will do my best to help.

first off why was my e-mails removed from post?
anyways i just need good proxy detection, i also need help getting secureserv to work.. its being a bish and i tried defender and it wouldn't connect either.. basically i want to be able to make sure that 99% of those ban evading arses can't get in, that noone can hack an oper account, spambots/warezbots/botnets can't connect... that kind of stuff

I guess the Services forum more fits this kind of thing.

Proxy detection? Have a google around for opsb.
SecureServ? Never liked/needed it really.
Defender? Never had issues, so maybe if we knew what was going wrong, we'd be able to help :p

I usually remove emails posted for the following reasons:
  • To prevent spam from webcrawlers wanting to spam you.
  • To prevent abuse, you never know who can be browsing these forums looking for someone to mail bomb.
  • To keep the conversation public - other people might be wondering the same thing.
  • To keep the conversation public - to prevent lots of people from sending you the same bit of information.
  • Even though this is about security, and the person wanting to evade securities set on your server, there is always a method to block it, and not always a method to get around it. If someone was so intent on annoying you, they would just give up and DDoS you anyway.
