Can't /mode user across linked servers?

I have two servers linked (one hub and one leaf), while I can /mode <user> on a local server (to see modes of a user) on either server, but if I /mode <user> and the user is on the other (linked) server, it returns nothing.
Why is this?
Thanks.

Also, why is it if I do a whois on someone on the other server, it doesn't show the "server notice mask" (for opers)
IE:
Code: Select all
Blaza is Blaza@...... * Blaza
Blaza is using modes +iowghaAxNt
........
Blaza End of /WHOIS list.
-
blz is blz@..... * BLZ
blz is using modes +iowghaAsxNt +kcfvGqso
........
blz End of /WHOIS list.
Where as
Blaza is on the other server (
HUB) while
blz is on the other (current/local server (
LEAF), where I sent these two /whois queries from.)
Is it possible to see the "+kcfvGqso" part reguardless if the other oper is on the same server (in a network of linked servers) or not?
Thank you

About the mode thing: Use /whois to see modes.
About seeing snomaks in whois: use /whois Nick Nick

Snomasks aren't propegated between servers. Using /whois nick nick means the ircd will forward the request to the user's home server so you get their idle time and so on.
