Unreal 3.2 (Windows XP) will not start

I downloaded and configured Unreal 3.2 on this XP machine, but it will not start. There are no log files anywhere in the Unreal directory.

I went through all of the .conf files, making sure all semi-colons are in place. I have double checked all code in the .conf files.

My firewall is not blocking the wIRCD. I set it to allow manually.

I have tried using a DOS window to start the wIRCD, and it states it started. I do (using Task Manager) watch wircd.exe start then quit immediately.

Any help will be appreciated.

If there's a wircd.[somenumber].core file, it means there's a crash and you should post it, together with aforementioned core file, at http://bugs.unrealircd.org.

Ron2K, thanks for your reply. I looked through the entire directory and cannot find any .core files.

install it as a service or not? try both Icons within the folder? try setting logs inside .conf

also, if installed as service: go to your service manager, find UnrealIRCd and start it/restart it manually

I have the same problem with Win XPsp2. I have installed the exe and configured the .conf file as per the instructions. When I try to manualy start the serive in windows services.msc , I get the error message '1067' .

Can anyone please recomend a fix, or point me to a previous build ?

re-run the UnrealIRCd installer and unselect 'install as a service', when finished installing try to run Unreal again (by running the wircd.exe), see if it helps (it probably does).
