I keep getting this in my status

Code: Select all

17:42 [averix] !Averix.AtlantisIRC.net *** Notice -- Link [[email protected]] cancelled, server
          Services.AtlantisIRC.net already exists from Services.AtlantisIRC.net
It's odd, before I never worried because I had a dedicated hub, and I didn't have to be on there so I never got the messages, and I upgraded to Uneal3.2.5, and I thought it stopped, but then I made a conf change, and /rehashed, and now I keep getting this error again.

Autoconnect is not enabled.

It could possibly be an Anope 1.7.14 bug, but I don't hear anyone else having it, I'm not sure what's wrong.

Try shutting down your services then use "/squit Services.AtlantisIRC.net" (without the quotes) then start up your services again.

Also try checking the process list to make sure Anope isnt trying to run more then once.

Also another thing to try is when you get this message try sending for example: /msg OperServ Help. If it responds then chances are Anope is trying to connect more then once or trying to run more then once. If it doesnt respond then Anop hasnt disconnected properly and the servers still think its connected.

To me this sounds as if Anope isnt disconnecting properly or trying to connect more then once. Eg. if Anope is not running but the servers still think its connected.

Hope this helps.

Anope has been connected the whole time, only one Anope process running, it's been doing this, and I've restarted Anope many times, for different reasons, and it still does this.

Anope is linked fine, everything is fine, except for this one message.. I'll try the SQUIT, despite my feeling it won't work.

Okay, I SQUIT and restarted them, I'll update ya to let you know if it fixed it or not.

Also, how do I sync clocks?

Code: Select all

18:44 !Averix.AtlantisIRC.net *** Notice -- Possible negative TS split at link Services.AtlantisIRC.net (1152549895 -
          1152571358 = -21463) [PLEASE SYNC YOUR CLOCKS!]
I thought NeoStats can fix this?

So I start up NeoStats and I get this

Code: Select all

18:47 !Averix.AtlantisIRC.net Stats 'u' requested by NeoStats ([email protected]) [ulined]
18:47 !Averix.AtlantisIRC.net *** Global -- from Stats.AtlantisIRC.net: Link with Network Complete!
18:47 !Averix.AtlantisIRC.net *** Notice -- TS Control - U:line set time to be 1152550074 (timediff: -21465)
Does that mean it's fixed? :-\

EDIT: The original issue was not solved.

Guess not, this is the output of TSCTL ALLTIME

Code: Select all

18:55 !Averix.AtlantisIRC.net *** Server=Averix.AtlantisIRC.net TStime=1152550520 time()=1152571987 TSoffset=-21465
18:55 !Shasta.AtlantisIRC.net *** Server=Shasta.AtlantisIRC.net TStime=1152550522 time()=1152571987 TSoffset=-21465
18:55 !Symptora.AtlantisIRC.net *** Server=Symptora.AtlantisIRC.net TStime=1152550521 time()=1152571902 TSoffset=-21380
18:55 !Phoenix.AtlantisIRC.net *** Server=Phoenix.AtlantisIRC.net TStime=1152550520 time()=1152572087 TSoffset=-21565
I'm not sure what to do.

To me the TSTimes on those apart from the fact NeoStats has caused a high offset to be used look close enough.

If you look at the results for my network youll see the TSOffset is a lot smaller and as with yours there are 1 or 2 second differences between the TSTimes
-alpha.invictachat.co.uk- *** Server=alpha.invictachat.co.uk TStime=1152605357 time()=1152605358 TSoffset=-1
-bravo.invictachat.co.uk- *** Server=bravo.invictachat.co.uk TStime=1152605357 time()=1152605386 TSoffset=-28
-delta.invictachat.co.uk- *** Server=delta.invictachat.co.uk TStime=1152605356 time()=1152605360 TSoffset=-2

Alos by any chance is ANop and Neostats trying using the same server name to connect. Eg. servics.network.com

Alternativly im guessing Anope is being loaded twice and when failing to connect with the second instance is closeing which is why itll only appear once in the process list.

i have the same issue when it's running for 24+ hours, but once i restart i haven't got any problems.

Anope is only running once.

NeoStats is on Stats.AtlantisIRC.net, and Anope is Services.AtlantisIRC.net.

How do I fix my TS times?

And yes, it did seem to go away when I restarted (Upgraded to 3.2.5), but when I rehased after a conf change, it came back...

Okay, I figured out the problem, I copied UnrealIRCd's cron script and modified it to be used with Anope.

What I did wrong was put ~/services.pid rather than ~/services/services.pid :oops:.

I fixed the script, and voila!!! I can't believe it slipped my mind that it was the crontab entry :oops:.

Well, I still need help with my TS times ^^.

Im not sure what other people will say of it but there is a what i believe is pretty good NTP client available at http://ntp.isc.org For windows versions there is a link at the very bottom of the downloads page which will take you to a page to get a windows version if oyu need one.

I'm not root of any of the boxen with the servers, I wouldn't know how to make the times sycned...

The alternative is to make sure youre using UnrealIRCd 3.2.5 with its built in NTP facility which although doesnt alter the system clock adjusts its own internal clock to be correct.
