I am planning to start a Server. To begin with - it will be just one Server which will be on a Dedicated Server on Windows Server 2003. I am looking at cari.net for the Dedicated Server.

cari.net has an option on Shared Cisco PIX Firewall - would having this Firewall be good to help stop the (D)DoS Attacks for when they do happen ?

Nothing can stop a (D)DoS attack.

EDIT: Well, you can: unplug yourself from the internet...

Thanks anyway

I won't do the option of the Firewall which it won't help stop them - costs $50 a month USD for the Firewall

The number of times ive seen hosting companies claim to be immune to (D)DoS attacks and thought that to myself.
