Connection Notices

Hello ppl,

I 've noticed that when a client connects to my server (Only one,not a Network) the notice i receive is something like this: e.g

*** Notice -- Client connecting on port 6667: User321 ([email protected]) [clients]

I think the server includes in these notices not only the hostnames but also the IP address of the client who is connecting.

To Show What I Mean.I Expected a notice like this

*** Notice -- Client connecting on port 6667: User321 ([email protected]) [1.2.3.4.] [clients]

Is There Something Wrong With My Configuration Or Unreal Works Like This( Only Shows Hostnames When Someone Connects).

The Basic Reason To Ask Is That I Want to Use BOPM in order to Scan Incoming Connections and BOPM needs IP's to be included in these notices.

Thanks :)

If you read the bopm.conf you'll notice a line that mentions PROTOCTL HCN, and that says you must uncomment it for Unreal support. Well, you didn't uncomment it.

I had already uncommented it,but i forgot to uncomment the bind connregex :P heh Many can happen when you are in hurry :)

Btw If The BOPM can see the IP during the connection, why we ( the operators) cannot see it?It Would Be Usefull. ;)

Thx A Lot Guys :)

If you type /protoctl HCN then you will see it too.

Or if you have a decent client, you can highlight+copy the hostname portion, and then put in /dns <press ^V>.

If it in fact, resolves.

Eh? I'm assuming you mean if it resolves during connection? In which case, it would just have the IP and you're good to go with it w/o /dns. But if you're suggesting /dns might fail, well then, not much you can do ;) .

Yeppah, that's what I was implying. i.e some problem with nameservers or whatnot.
