Yet more problems

Another confusing situation I've got myself into, it comes in 2 parts:
1. When I signed up for the shell hosting, I was given 2 IP's in the e-mail I got one is a VPN IP and the other a VHOST IP. Which one of these do I use on the config file?
And
2. How do I make it so I can just type /s irc.mysite.com instead of IP:6667? I hear it's something to do with making a subdomain on mysite.com but I'm not sure.
