Weird issue.

So I compiled unreal just fine and everything but when I goto run it, the first person to connect crashes it.

If you try to connect you will get as far as (example):
-
* Connecting to IP-Address (6667)
-
-irc.server.com- *** Looking up your hostname...
-
-irc.server.com- *** Found your hostname
-
* Disconnected
-
If I look in my error log I see:
TIME SYNCH: timeserver=1178408679, our=1178408678, offset = 1 [old offset: 0]
The above error changes slightly each time I try to run and connect again. Always crashing the ircd.

The server is a VDS. Using CentOS. I tried playing around with ntpd, due to reading about the time synch error, but with no luck I e-mailed support and they replied:
The time is synchronized, as a vds, you don't have that privilege to run ntpd, but only admin of the hardware node can do.
So if the time is synchronized, I'm confused on how I go about fixing this issue. I compiled unrealircd just fine and ran it on my old CentOS VPS. I have also used unrealircd on my windows os fine.

That time sync error, with an offset of one, is common, and insignificant. It's more of a warning of a nonmatching timestamp across servers. One second is not problematic at all, and can simply be a result of normal, mild network latency.

Do you get a core dump? Look for a file called something like *ircd*core*
