Netgear + Unrealircd

hey i have a problem with connecting to my own server i have all ports open that need to be open but when i try to connect to my DNS Domain it says connection refused and even when i try with my public ip i get that message its a Netgear Router

If you're trying to connect from your own LAN to your internet IP on your router, then you wont be able to. You will need to get someone from outside your LAN to test it.

You will have to connect to your server's LAN IP.

that's what i do al the time but there has to be a way so that i can connect with my public ip or the domain

There isnt with most routers. The only router's ive seen that capability in is firmware version 3.* of the Netgear DG834* series. (Not had any other netgear routers to try on)

Then I suggest you pop on over to the netgear site, and upgrade ya firmware to the latest version, which should allow you to do what you want. (did for me :) )
