Hi, I'd like to disable people from being able to become OPER just for joining the chat first.

Also if possible I'd like to make certain channels/servers where non-opers are only allowed to see and chat to OPERs and they cannot see or chat with other non-opers.

I have no idea what you are talking about. It looks like you have a few basic terms confused.

An operator (or oper for short) on IRC is someone who has privileged access to the server, can ban people from connecting, and can see such things as user connects, real hosts, and secret channels. Such a privilege is configured in your server configuration using the oper block, and those users need to log in using /oper. In some cases, opers have access to change modes and topics for every channel on the network.

A channel operator (or op for short) is someone with the +o mode on channels. These people are usually displayed in the channel nicklist prefixed with an @ symbol. People who are channel operators only have access to modify modes (settings) and topics which involve the channel they are operator on.

A server is a single IRCd which allows connections from clients. Multiple servers may be linked together to form a network.

I do not know what you mean by "joining the chat". "The chat" is a rather vague term that may be used to reference the IRC network, a particular server, or a channel.

Please re-phrase your question and be more specific.

Is it possible to set your channel up so that people who do not have OPER privileges can only see OPERs and only talk to OPERS? Even if there are other non-opers in the channel?

So as an OPER you will see the list of all users in the channel, be able to talk to them all at once when you type, and see their msges

And as a non-oper you will only see OPERs in the user list and when other non-opers type, you cannot see their msges and when you type, the only people who see your msges are OPERs

Is this possible?
