Do many people get the Monday after Easter away from work in big companies? Is that a regular paid holidayfor jobs givingpaid vacations?
<legalstuff>Actually that depends on your contract of employment. There is no legal obligation for a employer to let you have a bank holiday off unless your contract of employment includes such a clause. And with that there is thus no obligation for an employer to pay you for said day.</legalstuff>Bertrum wrote:In England, Easter Monday is a bank holiday so you get the day of work. (paid too)
I quite agree, but you could also do what I used to and work from 6:30am to 5:30pm sometimes 4:30am the following morning, for next to nothing per week. That said we all generally get bank holidays off as employers find it helps not to upset employees too much
