I was trying for some time and I couldnt figure out how to make unicode(?) characters work in ircd.motd (using latest stable version)
This is what I have in mind (example):
Code: Select all
░▓▓█▓ ███████▓░ ░▓▓▓▓▓░
███████ ▓██████████▒ ██████████░
▒██████ █████████████ ▓█████▓██████
░▒████▓ ░█████▓ ░▒█████ ▓████▓███████▒
▓███▓██ ██████ ████▓ ████▓███
▒███████ ██████ ██████▒████▓██
██▓▓▓██ ▓███████████████ ███████▓
█▓▓▓███ ███████████████░ ███████▓
▒█▓▓▓██ ███▓██▓██████░ ▓███▓███
▓█▓▓▓██ ▒██▓▓██ ▓██▓▓▒ ██▓▓▓███
██▓▓██▓ ▓█▓▓▓██ ▓█▓▓██▓ ▒██▓▓▓▓██████████▓
███▓▓█▒ ██▓▓▓██ ▓██▓███▒ ░███▓▓▓▓█████████
░████▓█▓ █▓▓▓▒██ ▓██▓▓▓██▓ ▒█████████████
░███████ ░███▓▓██ ▒██▓▓▓███▓░ ▓████████
███████ ▒███████ ░███████████░
░██████░ ███████ █████████████
█████ ▓██████ ░████████████
▓████ ▓█████████
░░
but when used as a motd for ircd results look something like this:
Code: Select all
%%%%%%%%%’%
%“%%%%%%%%’%
%“%%%%%%%‘%
%“%%%
%“%“%%%%%%%%%%%“%
%“%%%%’%
%“%“%“%’%%%
%%%%%
%%%%%%%‘%
%
%%%
%%%%%
Thanks

I just checked notes for new RC1 and I noticed - Remote MOTD support: you can now specify an URL instead of a file under the NEW section. Could this be possibly the solution?
