I was trying for some time and I couldnt figure out how to make unicode(?) characters work in ircd.motd (using latest stable version)

I tested same motd files as a bouncer's motd with same client, font and size and got them displayed correctly,
but when used as a motd for ircd results look something like this:

This might come as very newbish issue but can someone explain why unrealircd cant handle it, or better yet, how to make it work?

I just checked notes for new RC1 and I noticed - Remote MOTD support: you can now specify an URL instead of a file under the NEW section. Could this be possibly the solution?

You should understand that most clients can choose their fonts and even though mIRC comes default with a fixed width font, many users change the font type because fixedsys is extremely ugly. It's likely that only you and a few others will see your art as you want it displayed. Everyone else will see it all mangled up anyway.
