Upcoming UnrealIRCd security release on Saturday 12-sep-2026

On Saturday 12 September 2026 at 14:00 UTC we will release UnrealIRCd 6.2.7 along with a hot-patch for UnrealIRCd 6.2.x. This fixes a Denial of Service issue in a significant number of servers that was recently discovered during an internal audit.
We will send an announcement to the mailing list, do a post on the forums and put it on the frontpage of unrealircd.org, as usual with every release.
It would be good to be around at that time. The hot-patch can then be used to fix the issue without restarting UnrealIRCd, with no impact on your users or uptime.
