Linking Older Versions to Unreal3.2.3

Post by ScotCop »

Is there any issues/problems with linking a older version server (Unreal3.2.2b) to the new version, i got told there is but ive checked the release notes and forums see nothing about it.

I think the release notes are quite clear on that:

Code: Select all

- When upgrading a network, we assume you are upgrading from the previous
version (3.2.2). If you got a net running with servers that are several
versions behind (eg: 3.2.1) then you might experience (desynch) problems.
Also, if you try to use the new features, some might not work properly
until all your servers are upgraded. It is therefore recommended to
upgrade all servers in a 'short' time span (x day[s], not weeks).
For example, non-netadmins w/can_override have received some 'new abilities' in 3.2.3 (eg: -q'ing). If you use these 'new abilities' then you can cause desynchs.

So while your net won't crash or anything, just try to minimize the time you run different versions.
