new to this and really wanting to learn

hi im new to this whole unrealircd thing i have it installed and stuff but what about ircd.log do i need to create this file myself or should it already be there somewhere? if u could reply to [email protected] that would be great

I think it gets created by default, but pesonally I always 'touch ircd.log' after 'make install' finishes.

It gets created by default. If you're running windows and you're running unreal as a service, I have occasionally had/heard of issues with logging. If you're having trouble configuring and errors don't get logged, try taking it out of service mode:

open a cmd window
cd to your unreal directory and type:
unreal uninstall
wircd

The first command takes it out of service mode, the second starts it. Have fun
