Automatic channel op for IRC Operators?

Post by alBo »

Hello all,

I am quite new running an IRC server, i was wondering how would i make any IRC operator automatically joins a channel (even if that channel is already created by a normal user) the IRC Operator then automatically becomes a channel operator.

Do i need to set some special stuff up or adjust the config file?

All help is much appreciated
Regards
Christian

That's called abuse.

IRCops don't even need chanops... what would it be good for? :D

If they really need ops, they can use operserv, /samode or /mode (if they have can_override).
If you don't make mistakes, you aren't really trying.

I have to agree with Dukat on this, it can easily be seen as abuse.

Other options however would be found in services rather then the IRCD, I know Anope has a "superadmin" access that gives you founder access on all channels.

So unless you are on a small server where rooms are not allowed to be created (specialty server) and you are founder of them all, these options should not even be considered.
Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level, then beat you with experience.
