OS hosting of linked servers

hey everyone,

Would linking different servers run from different operating systems (linux / bsd / windows etc) cause any problems??

just a thought i got with a few netsplits - thanks everyone :)

It should not be an issue, as they are all using the same protocol. I personaly don't like running on windows due to stability issues. max uptime i got on my 2k AD server was 2 months, My linux server is currently sitting at 1 year 2 months uptime...

Multi-OS Networks work fine. Have had no issues with Win2k3 and Mandrake together.
