Cant start services

me and my freind cant figure out what is wrong but services were working till 3 days ago than stoped i tried getting them to start by rehas and restarting server ect but it didnt work so he said type /services and it says not egnough text to send so how do i start them

btw this is for nickserv chan serv oper serv and all that

Typing /services wont start the services. Unreal cannot start services itself, they need to be started manually by you. You need to log into the shell and run the services executable to start them. If you can tell us what services package you have, we can help you figure out how to start them.

I have anope 1.7.10 on slackware 10.1

Log into the shell where you have installed the services, go into the services directory, and type: ./services

ok i did that yesterday and it said cant open services.conf no such file well i saw that so i reinstalled still the same

You need to make a services.conf file. Use the example.conf located in the directory you installed the services to.

so just copy that file and make a file called services.conf and paste it in there lol

maybe i should read the doc for that LOL

Just read the example.conf file. It is all well explained in that.

ok i did it ran ./services and got no errors but its still down

Check the services.log file.

EDIT: The log is in the logs directory, and will be called services.log.<date> like services.log.20050705

Check the RemoteServer line, make sure it is correct. You will also need a link block in your IRCd's conf for the services.

i did that its all on 1 server my slack server

so i made it services.Eugneyserv.net

i dont have anything for iced on Eugneysoft.com

but server connetcs to irc.eugneysoft.com than i have dns point to this servers ip so do i need to do it as my irc server or what

so i dont double post now i getting refused :S

I GOT IT WORKING i joiuned anope thay said ue ip not name and it worked YAY
