I posted this in the anope forums and got nothing usefull.
Every now and then, i've been loosing my database for anope.
I seem to get very odd time stamps on the backup files that get created.
I don't know if this is an issue caused by a linked server, an NTP problem on my server or something totaly unrelated.
nick.db.19011213 <-- is the name of the backup
everywhere i look, the time is fine, so i'm at a loss.
Can anyone toss out ideas here?

Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level, then beat you with experience.
It's accurate, both system time and hardware time.Stealth wrote:IIRC, Anope timestamps files <year><month><day>
You might want to check the date on the box (type 'date' at a prompt)
Code: Select all
ircd@debian:~$ date

well, i was actualy online when it happened again.
looks like it's a server side issue as the time stamp from the terminal shows the incorrect date.
It happened right on the hour 1pm, 3pm, etc. So i suspect there is some issue with the ntp update function.
Thanx for the help.
