quarantine in link block

Post by tabs »

Hi,

I have 2 servers linked (hub/leaf) and the leaf server is quarantined in the link block for the hub. The leaf server is configured to have an oper block with netadmin. When the oper for the leaf server connects to the network ,the hub server sees the oper as a local oper, however the local oper has netadmin attributes. Is there a way to deny the oper on the leaf server the netAdmin?

Thank you.

Yes. You have to upgrade to the latest version (3.2.4).

Even in 3.2.4 quarantine is imperfect. When we were beta-testing it, we were able to produce many interesting global effects of the actions of quarantined opers.

/oper
/kill remoteuser die rat.
Oper is killed (QUARANTINED!)
remoteuser tries to talk.
remoteuser is killed (Unknown user)

The servers were desynced and the desync killed the remote user.

This is not a bug, but a result of the design's backward compatibility.
