Error when joining channel

Hi, I have a small IRC server running unrealircd and i've run into a problem, probably because I don't know what i'm doing.

I've made a channel and as the founder and irc operator I can get into it. However no other users can get in to this channel, they get the error "you do not have the proper access to join this channel. please contact the system administrator"

I've checked help files and FAQs all day but can't find an anwer... I have made sure to set the channel to RESTRICTED OFF in chanserv but still no go...

any hints?

Very strange error message...

That one's not generated by Unreal.

Anyway: What are the channel modes?

when I join, I get
Channel Modes are: +r

the error i mentioned must be generated by teh IRC client then, which is icechat

Hmm, could you paste the exact error they get?

And... could you ask one of the users to give you the debut output of their client (use /debug @debug) and paste it here?

the error is word for word what i wrote originally, i swear

i'll get the debug as soon as i can. thanks for looking into it with me, i'm in over my head with this irc stuff hehehe
