IRCd 3.2.5 "Freeze" With No Error.
IRCd 3.2.5 "Freeze" With No Error.
Hi, I've been running the UnrealIRCd since I can remember and have never had a problem like this. Under FreeBSD, the server will run fine anywheres from 30seconds to 1day. It's getting more and more frequent. When the UnrealIRCd starts up, there are no errors or problems. It ran for about a day, then just "locked up" the ./unreal stop didnt work nor did kill -9 PID, however I think ./unreal stop is just kill -9
. No idea how to fix this, and the IRC never actually "Crashes" it just drops all connections and continues running and will not shutdown, which then forces me to shutdown -r NOW to the box and restart unreal. I've checked the logs and the last action was a user either disconnecting or connecting. I believe I have full logging enabled on the IRCd as well as IRCop enabled with all snomasks, and that shows the same, last thing to happen was a user connecting or disconnecting. Any ideas on what might be going on? Or possibly how I can view what's going on exactly that's causing the crashes so I can fix? I've tried using 3.2.6-rc1 aswell, same problem. Thanks.

FreeBSD 6.* ? Someone had a similar problem. Everything working great, until their server was upgraded to 6.1.
I'm not sure if the process got unkillable at him though, like you have.
You might want to report this on http://bugs.unrealircd.org/

Posted on bugs.unrealircd.org ID#0003158. Looks like i'm going to have to reinstall using a different os unless there is a quick fix?
I see backtraces and whatnot posted all over the bugs area, and was wondering do I need to perform that when the IRCd locks up? If so, could I get some instructions how as I'm not an advanced FreeBSD user.
