Problem..

Post by Zach »

I have my domain, Ex. http://www.xxx.net
My server is working well, and I connect to it normaly by (127.0.0.1)

But, I want to connect to my server using, Ex. irc.xxx.net (irc.mydomain.net)
So, my friends can join it and we can chat.

How can I do that? Please, someone tell me.

You need to properly configure your router and DNS to allow your friends to connect.

In order to configure your DNS, please contact the company you registered your domain through.

To configure your router, you must consult its manual. Every router is different.

Also, please keep in mind that running a server of any kind requires basic networking knowledge (such as routers, firewalls, and DNS). Because you did not know to configure these basic things, it does tell me you do not have the knowledge required to run a server. Before going any further with your IRCd, I do suggest you learn about basic networking.
