Re: cloak.dll: permission denied
i have the same problem. what ive found is that avg will halt unreal, then unreal crashes with error, but every time you restart it, it creates a new temp cloak file in /tmp with a new filename. maybe if we could give the file a static name, it would help cause the exclude pup option in avg only works on pre-existing files.
i doubt much avg would do anything cause it identifies it as hacktool.dha and they wont bring down their security for 1 program like that.
i did get it working once and be damned if i can remember how i did it.

Re: cloak.dll: permission denied
1) In AVG: Tools > Advanced Settings... > Resident Shield > Exceptions > Add Path > "C:\Program Files\Unreal3.2\tmp\"
2) Run UnrealIRCd, AVG Popup for "C:\Program Files\Unreal3.2\modules\cloak.dll", Add Exception
2) Run UnrealIRCd, AVG Popup for "C:\Program Files\Unreal3.2\modules\cloak.dll", Add Exception

Gosh, I haven't been around this place for a while.
Two questions:
Two questions:
- Why don't you try a different anti-virus product and see what happens? Personally I wouldn't recommend AVG myself, in my experience it's a bit crappy and it tends to get stuff wrong (in both directions).
- Which Windows version are you running UnrealIRCd on? I recall trying out UnrealIRCd on one of the Vista beta versions when Microsoft's beta thing was going on, and it didn't have permissions to write to the Program Files folder, thus giving me that same error. Although, this was two years back, I imagine it would have been fixed by now.
