+k not saving

Just as the title says....
Created channel, registered it with chanserv, set +k leave the room and come back the key is gone.


Is this a chanserv or a IRCD issue is the first question....

If it's an IRCD issue what's the fix

On another note, what's a good option to use to prevent spammers? a bot? if so, which one?

That is the way IRC works: When the last user leaves a channel, the channel is 'destroyed', which means it is completely removed from memory. As a result, all modes, bans, topic, etc are no longer in existence, and this is why IRC has services. Services help preserve modes, bans, topics, etc.

It would be entirely up to your services package on whether or not they preserve channel keys (mode +k). Some services do, and some do not.

That's why I asked if it was an IRCD issue or a anope issue... I just wasn't 100%
