Help Needed - UIRCD 6.1.10 Config / Connection Issues / fail config ?

Hallo Guten Tag,

gibt es Deutschsprachige Members in diesem Forum?

ich bin neu in diesem Forum. Wir haben einen Microsoft Windowsserver 2019 aufgesetzt und haben den UnrealIRCD für Windows in der Version 6.1.10 darauf installiert. Ich benötige bitte Unterstützung bei der Konfiguration des Unreal IRCD Servers. Der Server läuft in einem Privaten Netzwerk. Die Clients verbinden sich über den mIRC Client. Die Client stehen im gleichen Privaten Netzwerk.

Der Server läuft soweit. Einige Clients können sich verbinden, und bei anderen Clients erhält der Benutzer im Status Fenster connect / disconnect andere wiederrum erhalten die Meldung max connections...

Yeah I agree with DonTCry: try raising the maxperip. If that doesn't work then show us the real (copy-paste) error that clients see.

Also, it seems your system clock was set from 2025 to the year 2030 and then back again to 2025. Those are huge jumps! To be honest i would recommend restarting UnrealIRCd in such a case because various timestamps/expiry/whatever could be set to 2030 now and they will only 'expire' in 5 years. I have never recommended restarting UnrealIRCd before for such a reason but then again i have never seen someone adjust the clock in that way :D. You can do so at a quiet period eg at night, of course.

Muss bei den Konfigurationsparameter "/*allow {mask 192.0.2.1;" die Unreal Server IP Adresse eingetragen werden ? Der Unreal IRC Windows Server hat die IP Adresse 10.163.128.230 - Zusätzlich eine Frage, ist es empfehlenswert anstatt der IP Adresse den DNS Namen anzugeben ? Oder spielt das keine Rolle?

Einige Benutzer erhalten bei dem ersten Start der mirc Anwendung dann im Status den Hinweis Verbindung zu "irc.example.org" fehlgeschlagen. Die mirc.ini wird dann in der Sektion [mirc] dem Wert "Host" mit dem Wert "host=Summacom IRC ServerSERVER:irc.example.org:6667GROUP:001
" überschrieben, obwohl in der Servers.ini der richtige Wert enthalten ist. Muss hier ggfs. noch eine weitere config-Datei angepasst werden muss? Nach durchsuchen der Datei Inhalte aus dem Conf Ordner wurde in folgender Datei "example_unrealircd.conf" folgende Werte gefunden:

Kann dieser Wert "name" von irc.example.org gegen die IP Adresse 10.163.128.230 ersetzt werden ?
Und kann der Wert "Info" von ExampleNET Server gegen den "Namen" Summacom IRC Server ebenfalls ersetzt werden ?

If i understand correctly, after a user connects you are seeing the server in mIRC being replaced by your servername. So even though you told it in the connect dialog to connect to 10.163.128.230 originally it then becomes irc.example.org in your case. I vaguely remember some clients might do that, yeah.

The me::name is supposed to be a hostname, so a DNS name, not an IP address. Your setup is LAN only? Do your clients share a common DNS server? Then you can configure that DNS server to make irc.example.org (or, of course, a better host/domain) point to your 10.163.128.230 IP address.

Hallo, ich habe eine weitere Frage zu der unrealircd Konfiguration. Wenn bei der vergabe eines Nicknames ein "scharfes" ß verwendet wird, erhalte ich im Status die Meldung "ungültiger Charakter". Welche Einstellung kann vorgenommen werden, um in Nicknames ein "scharfes" ß verwenden zu können ?
