SQLine: Reserved for services

Post by Sanctifyd »

My services link up just fine to Unreal but in the process ChanServ, NickServ, etc. all get a SQLine reason being "Reserved For Services"

Any idea why these nicks would be getting SQLine'd?

Thanks

That would probably be services making sure that in case of services downtime, no one can impersonate the services.

Unless it's in the conf file someplace... deny nick {} is it? I seem to recall that the default blocks *S*e*r*v* or something and reserves for services.

It seems like the log says that it's setting qline's on services but the sqline, qline lists are empty so apparently it's not. Services still work fine so I dunno what the deal is. I know ChanServ isn't joining registered channels though. Not sure why that is.

Ask over in the services forum, this is getting a bit off topic.

This is normal and by design, dont worry about it.

Servers (and opers) are excempt from Qlined nicknames, services is just protecting itself by placing Qlines on its nicknames so that in the event services goes down, people cant impersonate the services names.

This is normal :)
