ELine/GLine

Post by Zell »

<Zell> Exceptions dont bypass G:Lines
<Zell> ive tried
<Magus> Then you've screwed something up in the IRCd.
<Zell> Nope.
<Magus> Because on stock versions of Unreal, they do.

I don't think ELines punch thru GLines b/c I have tried it. We are trying to get a way to banwalk a G with an E. Is this possible?

Please don't mistake this post as a request to make ELines walk GLines, as that would be a bad thing.

I'm actually thinking about a feature request for an /ELINE command or something similar (think: exempt from /GLINE); this would allow gline exceptions to be set on the fly instead of having to add a tlk exception block and rehash, and could also be used with Services (I know that IRCServices could, and probably would take advantage of this).

(Will probably only worry about submitting this once 3.2.3 gets released.)

I may be wrong, but afaik, services should already be able to send a TKL to do what you're asking for :) They just don't.

[@syzop/codemastr: feel free to correct me, but the TKL system DOES handle this kind of thing, right? that's how servers distribute these kind of things amongst themselves..?]

Nope. There is no TKL flag for exceptions.

Uh no, this will not be in 3.2.3, it's already half the testers phase.
Btw, there will be enough nice new features in 3.2.3 to get people to upgrade if you ask me ;).
