The last time I used LakeServ was when version 6 revision 2 was out. It had some major bugs, and shortly after became an abandoned project. To my knowledge, the porject is still abandoned and still has most of the major bugs.

Bugs I experienced were:
 Forgotten nicks. LakeServ would fail to recognize users were online.
 LakeServ would not hold a very good connection, even on localhost.
 Half of the OperServ functions did not work.
 Many nick and channel functions did not work.
 Channel access lists were screwy.

Well Anope is kinda confusing, i understood the way unrealircd coding and anope is kinda weird to fill out, i wonder if someone would like to help me out or provide a better example.conf for Anope W32 version? Also LakeServ version 6.00.33 (Beta 3) finally connected to the IRCD server.
And how well is Magik II?
Ryan

P.S.: I woner if UnrealIRCD coders and staff are thinking about creating their own separate services? Like UnrealServices, or something they can make up a better title?

I agree with Ryan, anope is quite cconfusing to setup, and the example they give you doesn't help much either. I've been trying for the past 4 days already to get the stupid thing to even connect to unreal, oh well.

If it's that confusing to you, I'd suggest you think twice about running an IRC server. My guess is you do not yet have the knowledge you need. Read all the manuals, FAQs, tutorials, guides, etc.

Just for comparison, it takes me about 5-10 minutes to get Anope up and running. So if it's taking you 4 days, like I said, do some more reading.

It doesn't really matter to me that much, this is just an experiment. I dont plan on running the biggest server ever known to IRC, plus I finnaly just got Anope to load and link without any problems yesterday. I have another question, its kinda annoying to me to have DOS cmd Prompt constantly running on my desktop 24/7, because its required to be up and running all the time in order for the services to stay connected to my server. As soon as I closed out the cmd Prompt the servics were disconnected, so here is my question, is there a way to have this cmd Prompt run in the background so its no longer visible on my desktop or toolbar or taskbar or whatever you call it?

Thanks.

Use Google to find a program to do that. There are many free programs that can "hide" multiple windows with a single icon in the icon tray.
