Hey guys, Thanks to the guide i have linked my servers. I have a question though.
I have three servers irc-irc3.dipswitch.com
the main server is irc.dipswitch.com
there is irc2 and irc3.
irc2 -> irc
and
irc3 -> irc
now, when i try to link irc3 and irc2 together in order to have redundancy it says that it is already linked through server 1.
the question is that is the main server drops. Will irc2 and irc3 still be linked together?
if not, how can i have server redundancy so regardless of what one drops the remaining two will stay.

You cant. The IRC protocol was not designed for redundancy.

In fact,
RFC 1459 explicity disallows it:
The only network configuration allowed for IRC servers is that of a spanning tree where each server acts as a central node for the rest of the net it sees.
