Hi, i cant seem to find anything about this, but why is # actually needed in all channels? i have a idea that it is so you dont get mixed up between channels and nicks?

Re: Question about channels
Channels are prefixed by # to tell the difference between nick and channel objects.
Messages to nicks and channels are sent using the same command. If you don't put a # in front of the target, it tells the server you intend for your message to go to a single user and not a group of users.
