how can i have it so +q makes the nick go ~nick and +a makes the nick go &nick, instead of @nick.

what operating system?

what version of Unreal?

if nix version, did you compile it with PREFIX_QA? if not then I suggest doing so.... meh

im running debian woody and unreal 3.2. How do i compile it with PREFIX_QA?

+q and +a prefixes are a Config item ... run ./Config and turn it on.

Yeah, and there's no reason to confuse people with weird macro names like PREFIX_AQ, since the setting is handled by a ./Config question. (In other words, they don't need to know about that compile-time directive.)
